According to his statement, he wanted to observe the flood near the St. Emmeram Bridge on Saturday evening, the fire department announced. It was initially unclear why he was caught in the water and pulled into the river.

Rescuers pull wheelchair user out of the water

Current rescuers kept the 19-year-old out of the water. He was uninjured. According to a spokesman, the fire department believes it was an accident. In this context, the fire department once again points out the dangers of flooding. The banks should not be walked on if possible. Bicycles and e-scooters should also not be parked near the rivers. On Saturday, the emergency services had to be deployed several times to secure them.
