Bears vs. Texans Final Score Prediction for NFL Week 2 (Trust CJ Stroud on Sunday Nig

Two of the NFL's most exciting young quarterbacks face off in Week 2 on Sunday Night Football when CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans host first-round pick Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.

Williams struggled in his NFL debut, throwing for less than 100 yards on 29 passing attempts, but the Bears' defense ultimately helped them beat the Tennessee Titans.

Meanwhile, Houston's new veterans Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon combined for three points in a hard-fought win over Indianapolis.

Based on the odds, bookmakers are giving the Texans a big edge in this matchup and we will use those odds – as well as the latest analysis – to predict the final outcome of this Sunday Night Football matchup.

Despite their win last week and covering the spread, the Bears are clear underdogs on the road against a Houston team that won but didn't cover.

SI Betting’s NFL betting insider Iain MacMillan doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about the Bears, and he explained in his Road to 272 (where he bets on every game of the NFL season) why he's scoring points tonight against Houston:

Even though I lost the bet, I felt like I had the Titans vs. Bears game perfect in Week 1. The Bears will start the season slowly as their offense learns the scheme and begins to gel with each other. There are too many new players in this Bears offense, all playing under a new offensive coordinator, to expect them to be competent early in the season. They averaged 2.8 yards per play, by far the fewest of any team in the opening week.

Therefore, I wouldn't hesitate to put 6.5 points on the Texans at home on Sunday Night Football. The Texans' defense still raises some questions, especially because they allowed the Colts several deep shots, but overall Houston looked like the team we all expected them to be this season.

Now is not the time to bet on the Bears. Keep betting on them until the markets adjust to their slow start to the season.

Maybe Williams will look better in his second NFL start, but CJ Stroud won't make the game-winning mistakes Will Levis made for Tennessee.

I agree with MacMillan and predict a clear victory for the Texans.

Final score prediction: Texans 24, Bears 16
