At Frankfurt Airport, a man known to the police hit and spat at officers – and he apparently wanted to reach for a knife.

Frankfurt – Federal police officers have apparently just managed to prevent a knife attack on them at the Frankfurt Airport long-distance train station. During the night from Monday (September 9) to Tuesday (September 10), a 21-year-old man from Guinea apparently tried to stab the police officers with a knife with a blade length of 21 centimeters.

Only recently, security at Frankfurt Airport came across an inconspicuous walking aid that turned out to be a dangerous weapon.

Deutsche Bahn security staff had informed the federal police because the man was on the tracks. According to the police, the officers then checked the man, who was “uncooperative and aggressive from the start” and offered “active resistance” to being checked. The 21-year-old was already known to the police.

The man then tried to reach into his backpack several times. The officers were able to prevent this. Luckily for them, one must say. During the subsequent search of the backpack, the federal police officers found a kitchen knife with a blade length of 21 centimeters that was ready to be accessed.

“This at least suggests that the knife was the reason why the accused wanted to get to his backpack,” the federal police said. According to police reports, even after the knife was confiscated, the man continued to resist and hit out. He slightly injured two officers and spat in the face of another police officer.

He is now being investigated for assaulting and resisting law enforcement officers, as well as bodily harm. In addition, he was on the tracks without authorization. In the meantime, the Frankfurt am Main District Court has decided to remand the accused in custody after he was brought before a judge, the Federal Police further announced.

Meanwhile, a deported asylum seeker recently showed up at Frankfurt Airport again – with contraband. (please send me a PM)
