20-year-old arrested for sexual abuse of an underage girl

Kolar police have arrested a 22-year-old youth for sexually abusing a minor girl to lure her into marriage and later refusing to marry her. The girl was pregnant at the age of seven when she filed a complaint on Friday.

Police said that on Friday, a 17-year-old girl along with her relatives came to Kolar police station and filed a complaint against Saad Khan.

In her complaint, she stated that she had known the accused for a year and that she had been sexually abused several times by being promised marriage. After the sexual harassment, she became pregnant, after which Saad later refused to marry her.

Based on the complaint, the police after preliminary investigation registered a case under Section 376 (2) (N) IPC, Sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act.

Since it was a case of sexual abuse of an underage girl, the case was immediately reported to superiors, who instructed that the accused be arrested as soon as possible and that further steps be taken in the case.

A police team was sent to search for the accused and arrested the accused Saad Khan from Gehunkheda Bairagarh Chichli.

Meanwhile, the body of a 27-year-old youth, who had left his house two days ago, was found in a pond near Nai Mandi Bridge. Police have not ruled out the possibility of foul play.

The deceased, identified as Vicky Manjhi, left her home two days ago to pluck lotus flowers.

Police found the teenager's slippers and bag near the scene of the accident. Police suspect that the young man fell into deep water while trying to pick flowers and drowned.

A case has been registered and investigations have been initiated.

According to Gautam Nagar police, Vicky Manjhi (27), son of Padam Manjhi, was a resident of Imami Gate. He was selling flowers at Nai Mandi Gate. On Friday, he left home with the announcement of plucking lotus flowers from the Blooman Colony pond under Mandi Bridge.

When he returned only the next day, the family informed the local police station about the matter. In the meantime, the family of the deceased was informed that the body was found in the pond. They reached the spot and identified the deceased.
