The Amazfit Balance fitness watch with its 1.5-inch display looks a bit clunky at first glance. However, after putting it on our wrist, we are surprised at how light The watch is and how comfortable it is to wear.

In addition to the touch display, the crown and a button on the bottom right of the case are available for operation: If you press the crown, the app menu opens, which you can navigate through by turning the crown. The second button is used to confirm.

In the test, the input worked well, both elements responded immediately. The display shows content clearly and sharply, and you can adapt the structure of the display to your needs very well using the selected watch face and the settings.

If you would also like to have your lower body analyzed, you will need the optional Body Composition Analysis Mat for 40 euros. It is connected to the watch via an adapter – which is a bit fiddly – and analyzes the composition of the lower body using its own app. Both results are then combined in the Zepp app.

As for the different training modes, the watch can record over 150 sports and other more or less useful activities (such as chess or climbing stairs).

The automatic detection of the most important activities worked very well in the test, even if we had to adjust the sensitivity. Otherwise, the watch also recognizes leisure activities such as playing an instrument and records them as “Other”.
