Tragic drowning accident: Children die during rescue attempt

In a heartbreaking incident in Tilua village, two children drowned while trying to rescue a goat that had wandered into a river, police reported on Sunday.

The tragedy occurred on Saturday evening in Kalan area when a group of children were grazing their goats near the river. According to Superintendent of Police Rajesh S., six children went into the river to save the goat but were in danger of drowning in the deep water. Villagers responded to their calls for help and managed to rescue four of them. Unfortunately, Vandana (12) and Silesh (10) could not be rescued in time and died.

Superintendent Rajesh S confirmed that the police recovered the bodies from the river with the help of the villagers. The bodies have been sent for postmortem. Another child who was rescued from the water is in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
