A 12-year-old girl and a 26-year-old man died of gunshot wounds within 12 hours of each other in Alexandria, police said.

These were the third and fourth violent deaths in the city within 24 hours. On Friday evening, a man shot three people in his own business on Jackson Street, killing a relative and himself.

Just hours after this murder-suicide, Alexandria police responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of Locust Street, an offshoot of Dallas Avenue.

A press release said officers found 26-year-old Justin May of Alexandria dead from “an apparent gunshot wound.”

The agency has issued an arrest warrant for second-degree murder against 32-year-old John Kimbro, who is considered armed and dangerous, the press release said.
