After the suspect took an unknown amount of money – according to police – and tried to escape, he was confronted by another store employee. The suspect then stabbed the employee twice in the arm and fled, according to police.

According to police, the supermarket employee was taken to Jefferson Hospital in critical condition.

A suspect matching the description of the man involved in the robbery and stabbing was later found by SEPTA police underground at 1500 Market Street.

Police said the suspect had been positively identified and that further information would be provided once the prosecution process was completed.
