Eagles player Saquon Barkley gets better ratings on Madden NFL 25 after 3-TD game against the Packers | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

After scoring 132 yards of offense and three touchdowns in a 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers, Saquon Barkley got a boost in his Madden25 Reviews.

EA Sports announced on Wednesday that the Philadelphia Eagles star was improved by one point in each of the areas of awareness (94 to 95), ball handling (83 to 84), juke move (92 to 93) and overall rating (92 to 93).

The Eagles broke from their previous approach in the offseason and spent big to sign Barkley as a free agent, earning him a three-year, $37.8 million contract from Philadelphia after playing his first six seasons with the New York Giants.

According to Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Eagles have not had a running back who was among the 25 highest-paid players at the position for six seasons, from 2018 to 2023, and had the second-lowest salary cap hit ($29.3 million) at the position during that time.

Barkley's contract ranks fourth among all running backs in average annual salary, fourth in salary cap percentage, and fifth in total value.

Even though it's just one game, the results on the field make it look like a brilliant move by Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. Barkley carried the ball 24 times for 109 yards and scored two touchdowns. He caught two passes for 23 yards and another touchdown.

Barkley became the first Eagles player since Terrell Owens in 2004 to score at least three touchdowns in his debut with the team. The last Eagles player with two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown was Jordan Howard in 2019.

The Eagles didn't have a running back surpass 100 yards last season after Week 3. D'Andre Swift did it in back-to-back games against the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If the Eagles can get anything like this level of performance from Barkley week to week, their offense will be one of the best in the NFL this season. He more than earned his rating bump after a stellar performance in Week 1.
