After crash with police car: Three men fly

In Berlin-Pankow, there was an early morning crash between a police patrol and a car. After a short chase, the three men's escape ended on the tracks of a tram.

Berlin (dpa/bb) – A car with three men collided with a police vehicle in Berlin – the occupants initially fled. According to initial police findings, a 27-year-old driver apparently ignored the officers' right of way at the intersection of Schönhauser Allee and Husemannstrasse early in the morning. According to police, the man drove off in the direction of Danziger Strasse instead of stopping.

The officers pursued the vehicle despite minor injuries. On the turn onto Danziger Straße, the 27-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and veered off the road to the left. According to the police, he broke through a hedge and a fence and came to a stop on the tracks of a tram.

The men’s escape is short-lived

According to police, three men then fled from the car. A 20-year-old and a 31-year-old were immediately arrested. The 31-year-old man is said to have initially resisted arrest by headbutting the man. The 27-year-old driver was found a short time later near the scene of the accident. An investigation is underway.
