Ganesh celebrations take a tragic turn as youth drowns while washing tractor – Telangana Today

Ganta Srinivas (26) and his friends had installed an idol in the village. As they wanted to immerse the idol on Saturday, the youths took the tractor into a tank to wash it before decorating it.

Medak: Ganesh celebrations in Avancha village of Narsapur mandal took a tragic turn when a youth drowned in a tank while washing a tractor to be used for the Ganesh statue procession on Saturday.

Ganta Srinivas (26) and his friends had installed an idol in the village. As they wanted to immerse the idol on Saturday, the youths took the tractor into a tank to wash it before decorating it.

Srinivas went a little deeper into the water, unaware of its depth. He disappeared into the water.

His friends tried to save him but couldn't.

A case was registered. The body was sent to the Narsapur Government Hospital for postmortem.
