Chicago Fire

Season 13 starts on September 25th at 9 p.m. on NBC

According to TVLine, the new season of Chicago Fire begins “with the immediate reaction to Damon's news that Benny is his father, and then jumps forward about six weeks.”

Showrunner Andrea Newman told TVLine that this was “really jarring [Severide] He is in a lot of turmoil and has to make some important decisions.”

Newman also hinted that Stella would have to make decisions about the “next steps” in her relationship with Severide and that Severide's desire to start a family would be “addressed fairly quickly.”

Dermot Mulroney's character, Chief Dom Pascal, “makes it clear from the beginning that he is not Chief Boden,” explains Newman, announcing that “there will be surprises in terms of who he makes friends with and who he clashes with.”

Without giving too much away, Newman shared, “This is a big, Knight-heavy season. There are a lot of changes coming to Knight.”

After Upton's departure, patrol officer Kiana Cook (Toya Turner) comes on board. Chicago Police Showrunner Gwen Sigan told TVLine, “She's been through a lot on the force and is looking for a place where she fits in… She's going to find a family in the 21st century.”

Burgess and Ruzek will reportedly “get even closer” after their engagement. Voight will be “a little reflective,” according to Sigan, as he looks inward after being kidnapped and tortured by serial killer Frank Matson.

TVLine also promises “a fast-paced episode with Ruzek that is simply an action trip, as well as an impressive segment with Torres that shows him in a way we've never seen before.”

Sigan revealed that Atwater will have a love interest this season, noting, “It creates a beautiful relationship. There's more openness.”

Chicago Med

Season 10 starts on September 25th at 8 p.m.

Chicago Med will begin with a dramatic incident, according to new showrunner Allen MacDonald. “The season premiere revolves around a high-casualty incident,” he told TVLine. “A commuter ship is docked at Navy Pier and a smaller ship collides with it. It's an all-hands-on-deck situation.”

Goodwin hires Dr. Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos) to help with the patient overload at another hospital that is closing. “Dr. Lenox very quickly does what she can to take control of many aspects of the emergency room, which Dr. Archer is not happy about,” MacDonald revealed.

MacDonald also spoke about the cliffhanger of the last season. “Ripley was and is not completely transparent about what happened to Pawel. Because of this, there is a real icy coldness between [Hannah and Ripley] when the season starts,” he explained.

The showrunner also hinted that there “might be some obstacles” for Maggie and Loren.
