Three seriously injured in accident between Langen and Dreieich | hessenschau.de

According to the police, the accident occurred on Saturday at around 10:45 a.m. on the L 3262. For reasons that are still unclear, the 48-year-old driver of a VW Tiguan drove across an intersection on Darmstädter Straße in the direction of Dreieich, even though the traffic light was showing red for him, the officers said. This led to a collision with a VW Passat.

The 54-year-old driver of the Passat and his 50-year-old passenger as well as the driver of the VW Tiguan were seriously injured, police said.

Damage about 40,000 euros

Pictures from the scene of the accident show the conspicuous cargo of the person who caused the accident: the interior of the compact SUV was loaded to the top with building materials. When asked, a police spokesperson could not say whether the cargo was related to the cause of the accident.

Darmstädter Straße was completely closed while the accident was being investigated. The police estimate the damage at around 40,000 euros.
