PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A woman is recovering in the hospital following an early morning shooting on the South Side.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, officers patrolling the South Side shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday morning heard gunshots in the 1100 block of East Carson Street and responded.

They found a woman who had been shot in the lower leg. She was conscious and talking to police and paramedics on the scene.

She was eventually taken to hospital in stable condition to receive treatment for her injury.

Witnesses at the scene reported that an argument broke out between men in a bar and spilled onto the street before one of them pulled out a gun and fired several shots.

The man then fled toward South 10th Street.

The police were able to find and arrest him a short time later.
