Cause of death of 80s child star found in car with dog revealed

Benji Gregory, the actor who played the role of Brian Tanner in the popular 1980s series “Alf,” was found dead in his car in June along with his service dog.

Both Gregory, 46, and his service dog, Hans, were dead in the car when police discovered them in a Chase Bank parking lot on June 13. Now we know why Gregory died.

According to a report by Deadline The Maricopa County Medical Examiner listed the cause of death as “heat exposure associated with liver cirrhosis.” The report ruled the death an accident.

At the time of Gregory's death, Arizona was experiencing a heat wave, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit on several days.

“Alf” was a popular sitcom that aired on NBC from September 22, 1986, to March 24, 1990.

“Alf” stands for “Alien Life Form” and is about an alien who makes an emergency landing in the Tanner family’s garage and eventually stays with them.

Benji Gregory played the young son Brian in this show.

His other films include “Jumpin' Jack Flash,” “Once Upon a Forest,” and “Amazing Stories.”
