SIT files 1,691-page chargesheet in third sexual assault case

Prajwal was charged under sections 376(2)(n) for repeated rape, 354 A (1) (ii) for sexual harassment by demanding sexual favours, 354B for assault on a woman, 354C for voyeurism and 506 for criminal intimidation of the Indian Penal Code. He was also charged under sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The SIT had previously filed two chargesheets against Prajwal. On September 9, the SIT charged him with sexually assaulting a former domestic help employed by his family. An earlier chargesheet dated August 23 contained detailed allegations of sexually assaulting a cook employed by the family and molesting the cook's daughter.

The SIT has registered four cases against Prajwal and the fourth chargesheet, relating to sexual harassment, is expected to be filed soon. Prajwal is currently lodged in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail while his bail application is pending before the Karnataka High Court.
