Head-on crash with van near Waren: 17-year-old injured

A 17-year-old youth was killed in a traffic accident between Levenstorf and Hinrichshagen near Waren. According to police, the 17-year-old was riding a motorcycle on Friday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m. and collided head-on with an oncoming van in a left-hand bend.

Fire breaks out after accident

“The young motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident despite resuscitation efforts. The motorcycle caught fire as a result of the impact. This was extinguished by the first responders,” said a police spokesman. Accordingly, the connecting road between the two towns had to be completely closed for three hours after the accident.

It is unclear whether the 34-year-old driver of the van was injured. According to the police, the public prosecutor's office ordered the deployment of an accident expert from Dekra.
