Stabbing near State Pier in New London under investigation

NEW LONDON – A man was stabbed near the State Pier in New London on Wednesday and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The incident occurred around 12:23 p.m. in the area of ​​State Pier Road and Cole Street, according to the New London Police Department.

When officers responded to a report of a stabbing, they found a male victim with serious injuries.

He was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Connecticut State Police have taken over the investigation because the incident occurred on state property, New London police said.

Authorities did not provide further information about the circumstances of the stabbing or possible suspects.
