80-year-old man dead after being found in Macomb County canal: authorities

According to a news release from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, officers were dispatched to an address in the 41000 block of Bayhaven Drive in Harrison Township at 11:23 a.m. for a report of a missing person.

When officers arrived, they found the man, whose identity has not yet been released, unconscious in a canal behind his home. Officers brought the man to shore and began CPR.

The Harrison Township Fire Department also responded and took the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
