A 17-year-old fast-food worker is traumatized after a man threw bleach in her face at a Burger King drive-thru in Georgia.

Andrea Alexander was working the night shift on Tuesday when she fell victim to the unprovoked attack.

An unidentified man reportedly stopped at a drive-thru near Jonesboro Road in Union City to pay for his food when he threw a cup of liquid at Andrea – and then drove away.

“At first I thought it was water because it was really cold,” she told ANF.

She added: “But then I took a breath and my eyes and nose immediately started burning.”

Andrea said a customer at the Burger King drive-in threw a cup of bleach in her face – and then drove away

The attack was seemingly unprovoked – there was no hostility or problem with the man’s food before the attack

She couldn't open her eyes and said she heard him drive off without food.

Their interaction before the attack was normal – or so she thought. Alexander said there was no hostile energy or problems with his order and he had no idea what drove him to do it.

Her mother, La Toya Alexander, is concerned about the establishment's alleged lack of response to the incident and the way it was handled.

“Whatever their procedure is in an emergency of this kind, none of it was followed,” she told ANF.

When her daughter was sprayed with chemicals in her face, she said, the workplace did not call the police or even provide first aid.

Fortunately, Andrea did not suffer any serious physical injuries. However, the emotional damage the accident caused is another story.

“The first night I could hardly sleep. I could hardly sleep because every time I open my eyes I see someone pouring bleach in my face,” Andrea added.

She said she has no plans to return to work.

It's no secret that fast food employees often have to deal with disruptive customers. In some cases, customers become abusive.

In recent years, numerous videos have been posted on social media showing customers across the country attacking employees in isolated incidents.

In most cases, the attacks appear to be groundless.

In July, a Missouri woman got behind the wheel of her car and ran over the manager of the popular fast-food chain Jack in the Box after he complained about missing chicken strips and ranch dressing, the Independent reported.

A study conducted by the UCLA Labor Center found that half of fast-food workers surveyed had experienced verbal attacks and more than a third had experienced violence in the form of threats, racial slurs and physical assault.

Andrea warns other fast food workers to always stay alert while at work.

She added: “I hope that anyone who has experienced the same thing will come forward.”

“If you have any information, please come forward so I can get justice.”
