Storm vs. Wings WNBA prediction, odds and key players for Friday, September 13 (Cannot bet

The Dallas Wings will play the second night of a back-to-back game in a losing season against the No. 5 seed Seattle Storm on Friday night.

Seattle is still fighting for fourth place, but will need to finish strong and not let the Las Vegas Aces stumble to get there.

These teams have played each other three times, with the Storm winning by 24 points (home), 21 points (away) and eight points (away). However, none of these meetings have taken place since Satou Sabally returned to play for the Wings.

Here's a look at the odds, the key players to keep an eye on, and my top pick for Friday's contest.

Wings Injury Report

Seattle Storm

Skylar Diggins Smith: Since the Olympic break, Diggins-Smith has been one of the best defenders in the WNBA, averaging 18.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game and shooting 46.7 percent from the field. With Jewell Loyd struggling with her efficiency this season, the Storm need Diggins-Smith to continue scoring at a high level.

Dallas Wings

Arike Ogunbowale: Dallas is playing the second night of a back-to-back, but Ogunbowale delivered a solid performance Tuesday night, scoring 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field. The Wings guard has scored 69 points in three games against the Storm in 2024.

As great as Sabally is, I don't think she can make up for the Wings' defensive deficiencies – they rank dead last in the W defensive rating.

Seattle dominated this matchup in 2024 and there is simply nothing left at stake for the Wings as they are already out of the playoff race.

Considering that this is the second game in a row, I think we have the perfect conditions for a Seattle win.

After Tuesday's loss to New York, the Wings have lost five straight games, falling to 5-13 ATS at home.

For me it's either Seattle or nothing.

Selection: Storm -6.5 (-112)
