Suspect identified in Boulder Trail stabbing investigation – Boulder Daily Camera

A suspect has been identified in connection with a stabbing on a trail in Boulder on Wednesday.

Although the Boulder County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect, his identity is not being released due to the ongoing investigation.

According to a press release, officers believe the suspect does not pose a threat to the public at this time. However, investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other from previous encounters along the trail.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 60s, approximately 6' tall with gray hair. The suspect also had a dog with him, described as a colorful dog with a trimmed coat, possibly a terrier type.

According to the press release, the Boulder County Communications Center received a report of a stabbing that occurred on Chapman Drive at Tenderfoot Trail at 7:46 a.m. Wednesday. The male victim was stabbed multiple times before the suspect ran away.

The hiker suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
