Cardi B and Offset are happy about their third baby just weeks after their separation: “Prettiest Lil' Thing”

Cardi B is a mother of a girl again!

The “I Like It” rapper, 31, welcomed her third baby on Saturday, September 7, and shared the exciting news with an Instagram carousel posted on Thursday, September 12. The proud mom is seen smiling in a hospital bed with her baby in her arms while wearing a colorful bathrobe.

In other photos and videos, Cardi's estranged husband Offset, who she filed for divorce from in July, can be seen holding the baby in his arms. “The prettiest little thing 🌸🌸 9/7/24 💖💖💖,” Cardi wrote in her caption.

Cardi is already a mother to son Wave, 3, and daughter Kulture, 6, with Offset, 32. In the post, the proud parents can be seen sitting in the hospital room with both children as they meet their new little sister. Kulture even holds her little one in her arms while Cardi looks lovingly at her two girls.

In early August, Cardi shared that she was expecting her third baby, confirming the news on her Instagram. “With every ending comes a new beginning! I'm so grateful to have shared this time with you, you brought me more love, more life, and most of all renewed my strength!” Cardi wrote in her caption alongside a few photos of herself in a red dress showing off her belly.

“You reminded me that I can have it all! You reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love and my passion! I love you so much and I can't wait for you to see what you've helped me achieve, what you've pushed me to do!”

“It's so much easier to just take life's twists and turns and trials in stride, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it's worth persevering!” she concluded her post.

Her pregnancy announcement came just one day after the rapper filed for divorce from Offset after six years of marriage. A rep for Cardi confirmed the news to PEOPLE, saying, “This is not based on rumors of infidelity, but has been brewing for a long time.”

Later in August, Cardi revealed in an X Spaces chat that she recently experienced a “freak accident” that left her briefly “paralyzed” and nearly caused a miscarriage.

“I had a crazy fucking accident. I don't know how something – well, it wasn't small, it really hurt,” the singer said, without giving details or a diagnosis.

“This does not happen often, but it is [sic] so big that I was literally paralyzed,” she added. “And that little thing almost cost me the birth of my little one.”

Fortunately, “that didn't happen,” she said. “Yesterday I was fine. I came home, but I was totally high.”

Cardi continued to update her fans on her condition, saying, “Today I woke up sober, honey. I'm dying. If I'm not OK in four hours, I'm going to the hospital and I don't give a f***.”

“I overdo this shit so I can get more morphine. Morphine in! I don't give a shit,” she added, laughing.
