Child flown to hospital by helicopter after rescue from La Porte Bay

LA PORTE, Texas – A small child was flown to a hospital Thursday after being found in a bay in La Porte, according to La Porte police.

Officers, along with La Porte Fire and EMS, responded to the cove in the 3000 block of Fondren at 11:15 a.m.

According to police, the child was resuscitated and taken to a regional hospital by rescue helicopter. The child's condition is unknown.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the La Porte Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.
