RCMP and BC Coroners Service investigate after body found on Lake Country road – Kelowna News

The British Columbia coroner is investigating after a body was discovered on Sherman Drive on Wednesday afternoon, but police do not believe it was a “criminal death.”

“Two RCMP were standing next to a yellow tarp on the ground behind Peter Greer Elementary in Lake Country. They had their blue gloves on and were waiting for something,” says an anonymous informant who was in the area Wednesday afternoon.

Kelowna RCMP spokesman Cpl. Michael Gauthier confirmed that the RCMP were called to the scene near Peter Greer Elementary School.

“The death has not been treated as suspicious or criminal in nature. The investigation remains with the BC Coroners Service,” said Cpl. Gauthier.
