Chloe Troast says she was fired from 'SNL' before season 50

Chloe Troast leaves “Saturday Night Live” after one season.

The 27-year-old comedian and actress announced on social media on Wednesday that her exit from NBC's sketch comedy series before its 50th season was “not my decision.”

“Hey everyone! I wanted to let you know that I will not be on SNL next season,” she wrote in a TikTok video.

“It wasn't my decision. I wish I was there and could be with my friends,” Troast added. “It really felt like a second home. Thank you all. I love you all.”

Troast also shared the news on Instagram.

“Unfortunately, I was not invited back to SNL this season. I wish I could return to all the amazing friends I met there. It truly felt like home. But that was not a given,” she wrote.

“I want to thank everyone who supported me. Especially everyone who came to my tour this summer, dressed up as characters and had such wonderful things to say. You mean everything to me. I hope I spread joy and laughter, love.”

Troast joined “SNL” as a star cast member in season 49. She made her debut in the October 14, 2023 episode.

Fans were disappointed to hear that Troast was apparently fired from the show.

“There must be tea because this doesn't make sense. What really happened???,” one person commented on Troast's TikTok.

“Absolutely wild. They had one of the strongest first seasons of any cast member in a decade,” said another.

A third comment read: “I am deeply saddened by this news.”

“You were such a refreshing addition, this makes absolutely no sense,” another viewer told Troast.

Troast is the third “SNL” star to recently announce their exit from the show. Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney will also not be back in season 50.

Johnson, 39, who made history as the show's first openly queer black woman when she was cast in 2020, announced in June that she had decided to exit.

“I talked to my team. I was like, 'Look, I don't really know if I belong in this job, so maybe I should quit,'” she said on the “Fly on the Wall” podcast.

She added: “But I told them super, super late, right after I found out I was allowed to go back. And it was like, 'So Punkie, you need a plan. You can't just quit your job.'”

Kearney, 32, the first nonbinary cast member in the “SNL” cast, announced his exit in an Instagram post last month.

“When I think back to the incredible two seasons I had on that show, it was like a dream come true. I am so incredibly grateful for that time in my life.”

“So much love to all my big-hearted mates behind the scenes who make the magic happen every week,” Kearney added. “So many bald heads, so little time.”

The cast of the new season of “SNL” will include many returning stars, including Michael Che, Colin Jost, Bowen Yang, Heidi Garner, Chloe Fineman, Mikey Day, Kenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim.

New players include Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline.

The 50th season of “SNL” starts on September 28th.
