Fatal accident in Washington County: Car collides with semi-trailer, 1 dead

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wisconsin. – A crash in Washington County involving a semi-truck and a car left one person dead on Wednesday, September 11. The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on Cty Tk M near Trading Post Trail in the city of Trenton.

When the emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, they found the driver of a sedan unconscious in the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the semi-trailer truck was uninjured in the accident.

Initial investigation revealed that the semi-truck had stopped in the eastbound lane while delivering equipment. The sedan was also traveling eastbound and only reacted at the last second to the semi-truck stopped in traffic – causing the sedan to strike the rear of the trailer.

The Tk M district was closed for about four hours for accident reconstruction and vehicle recovery.

The accident is currently being investigated by the Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
