Google Pixel 9 Pro smartphones present with Bluetooth problems

The new Google Pixel 9 flagships are apparently struggling with various Bluetooth issues. According to Android Police, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is particularly affected, but also the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Users complain of poor Bluetooth range, poor-sounding music when streaming audio and stuttering, frequent connection interruptions and problems when using Android Auto wirelessly. Not all of the problems occur in combination. Google is now aware of the problems, but a helpful update is not yet in sight.

According to Android Police, a possible workaround until the update is to turn off ultra-wideband (UWB). According to a test, Bluetooth failures have decreased significantly when the protocol is deactivated. The fact that this actually has an impact on the bug is proven by the basic model Pixel 9, which in turn is not equipped with UWB devices. According to reports, the entry-level model has so far been spared from the Bluetooth problems. (Doc)
