Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and others attend Malaika Arora's father's funeral

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]September 12 (ANI): The film industry came together to express condolences as Anil Mehta, father of Bollywood actress Malaika Arora, was laid to rest at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Malaika Arora reached the crematorium along with her son Arhaan Khan.

Several celebrities, including Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and her husband Saif Ali Khan, and other film stars, came to the crematorium to pay their last respects to Malaika Arora's father.

Saif Ali Khan and Karisma Kapoor arrived together.

Malaika Arora's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan also arrived at the crematorium with his wife Sshura Khan.

Malaika's close friend and filmmaker Farah Khan Kunder also attended the gathering as she arrived to pay her last respects to Anil Mehta. Her brother Sajid Khan accompanied her.

Actor Sohail Khan arrived at the crematorium with his son Nirvaan Khan.

Celebrities like Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis and Gauhar Khan also came to pay their last respects.

Gauhar Khan: Geeta Kapur: Terence Lewis: Guru Randhawa: On Wednesday, Kareena Kapoor Khan, a close friend of Malaika Arora, arrived at the Arora residence with her husband to offer her heartfelt condolences. The actress looked visibly emotional as she entered the house to offer her condolences.

The meeting was marked by great sadness and solidarity from the film industry.

Earlier, on September 11, the Mumbai Police announced that Anil Mehta's death was prima facie a suicide, but all possible circumstances were being examined.

DCP Raj Tilak Roshan, head of Crime Branch, confirmed that Mehta's body had been sent for post-mortem and that both police and forensic teams were thoroughly investigating the case.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Malaika Arora expressed the family’s deep sadness.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the demise of our dear father Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend. Our family is deeply shocked by this loss and we respectfully request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time,” the statement said.

Malaika Arora, who was not present at her father's house at the time of the incident, was reportedly in Pune at the time.

When she received the tragic news, she rushed back to Mumbai. Her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan was also present at the gathering to support her during this difficult time. (ANI)
