Shooting in Lynchburg leaves one injured

LYNCHBURG, Virginia. – One person was injured after a shooting occurred on Park Avenue in Lynchburg Wednesday night, the LPD said.

At 7:40 p.m. Wednesday evening, LPD responded to a report of shots fired in the 1500 block of Park Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a person had suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, police said.

The victim was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to LPD, preliminary investigations indicate that the shots were fired from a black sedan.

Lynchburg Police are currently investigating the circumstances of this shooting and are seeking any information that may help solve the case.
