Man broke into nursing home and abused pet: police

A maintenance worker in Connecticut was arrested after allegedly breaking into a residence and sexually abusing a pet, according to Farmington police.

Arrest records show Jose Ramos-Cordero, 65, of New Britain, was arrested Monday and charged with third-degree burglary, disorderly conduct and sexual abuse of an animal and released on $10,000 bail.

The incident occurred Monday when Ramos-Cordero, a maintenance worker at Brookdale Gables, a senior living community, allegedly broke into a tenant's apartment while the tenant was away.

Police were allegedly shown a video showing Ramos-Cordero lying on the floor of the apartment building and “attempting to sexually engage with the tenant's dog.”

Ramos-Cordero is scheduled to appear in court on September 17.
