Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard accuses Diddy of sexual harassment

Another day, another sexual assault lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Today, The Guardian reports that Diddy was sued by Dawn Richard, a former member of the music group Danity Kane, who entered the circle of musician and producer as a contestant on a reality TV series Forming the band. Richard says that Combs repeatedly verbally harassed and abused her during the years of their association, and that during her membership in the group Diddy – Dirty Money, he “sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions by touching her breasts and buttocks while she was undressing in a dressing room.” The text of the lawsuit states: “Mr. Combs frequently slapped Ms. Richard on her bare bottom and often made comments about her body, noting that although she was 'too skinny,' she had a 'butt.'”

In addition to her own allegations, Richard has also offered her perspective on the abuse Combs allegedly committed against his long-term partner Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura. She said she saw Combs physically beat Ventura, attempt to strangle her, and once throw a “boiling hot” pan of food at her. Combs previously settled an abuse lawsuit with Ventura, just one day after filing it in 2023.

News of this latest lawsuit comes just a day after Combs was fined $100 million in a default judgment in Michigan after current prison inmate Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith accused Combs of sexually assaulting him in 1997. Combs reportedly failed to appear for a virtual hearing this week, leading to the default judgment being entered. Combs has been accused of sexual assault by several women in recent years, with most of the related litigation initiated after the Cassie lawsuit was filed in November 2023. Several of his properties were raided by the federal government in March 2024 in connection with “an unspecified ongoing investigation.”
