Apparently there was construction work going on on the farm.

Local Fianna Fail councillor Brendan Fitzgerald paid tribute to Mr Lynch – who is also known by the nickname O'Loinsaigh – and said he was highly respected in the community.

The local representative said: “He was a lovely man who was well known in the area.”

“He would run both a B&B and a farm.”

Muire Gan Smal Presentation Primary and Pre-school, whose headteacher was Maire, the sister of the tragically deceased man, said: “We would like to express our sincere condolences to our former headteacher and colleague Maire Lynch on the death of her brother Fionnan.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

Another friend said: “My deepest condolences go out to Fionnan’s family on this tragic loss.

“It has been a pleasure working with Fionnan over the past seven years.
“Lots of banter and haggling in the calf barn at Kilfountain. He will be missed very much. A true gentleman.”

“Dearestly beloved brother”

He leaves behind his siblings Maire, Sean, Eibhlín, Aine and Ronan.

The family paid tribute to their “dearly beloved brother” following his unexpected death.

An online obituary read: “The death of Fionnán Lynch (Ó Loingsigh), Kilfountain, Dingle has occurred.”

“Fionnán passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2024.

“Will be sorely missed”

“Beloved son of the late Micheal and Kathleen Lynch (née Bowler) and dearly loved brother of Maire, Sean, Eibhlín (Casserly), Áine (Knightly) and Ronan.

“He will be sadly missed by his loving sisters-in-law Kathleen and Ann-Marie, brothers-in-law Paul and James and his beloved nieces and nephews Sarah, Seamus, Ciara, Roisin, Cormac, Darragh, Caitriona, Eoghan and Cuan.
