Tragic end to a childhood dream: prospective doctor dies from electric shock

Ashan, a 12-year-old boy who aspired to become a doctor, tragically lost his life when he was electrocuted by a live wire near his home in South Delhi.

His father Premchand, a Pakistani migrant who trades scrap metal for a living, alleged the power company's negligence, citing an unresolved complaint from August about exposed wires in their Maidan Garhi neighbourhood.

The incident took place on September 4, when Ashan was playing with friends. Despite immediate help from a neighbour named Sikander, Ashan was declared dead at a nearby hospital. A complaint has been filed and police investigation is on.
