New Delhi, Sept 11 (PTI) – Three men were arrested for allegedly stabbing a labourer to death following an argument while drinking alcohol on a pavement in the southwestern city of Vasant Kunj, police said on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as John Madrasi, 40, was homeless and spent nights on the sidewalk, they said.

Police reviewed footage from a nearby surveillance camera and found that three men ran away from the scene at around 6:45 p.m., the official added.

As part of the investigation, three men were arrested in the same area early Wednesday morning: Aman, 21, a rag picker, Aamir, 18, who worked in a private company in Haryana, and Jeewan, 27, a drummer.

During interrogation, it emerged that the trio was drinking alcohol with John under the Masoodpur flyover. While consuming alcohol, Aman vomited on the pavement next to John's bedding.

After some time, John noticed the vomit next to his bed. He protested and even abused Aman. Aman then became angry and allegedly attacked John with a broken liquor bottle.

Jeewan then allegedly stabbed John with a knife and fled, leaving him bleeding, police said. PTI ALK ALK KVK KVK
