Crash at intersection: Seriously injured and total loss – Bernkastel-Wittlich district

The police report: On the morning of September 11th, the police were informed at 9:03 a.m. of a traffic accident with injured people at the intersection of the L150 / K76 in the Talling district. According to initial investigations, the 67-year-old woman who caused the accident was driving on the K76 from the direction of Heidenburg and wanted to turn left onto the L150. In doing so, she failed to see a van coming from the left that had the right of way. The driver of the van was unable to brake in time and collided head-on with the driver's side of the woman who caused the accident.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle that caused the accident were seriously injured and taken to nearby hospitals. The driver of the van was slightly injured, his passenger was seriously injured and was also taken to a nearby hospital.

Both vehicles were declared a total loss. The L150 was completely closed for a period of around three hours. Traffic was diverted. The public prosecutor's office ordered a report to reconstruct the accident.

The Thalfang and Breit fire departments as well as the Thalfang road maintenance department, two emergency doctors, four ambulance crews and the Morbach police station were on duty.
