According to reports, senior officials of the Mumbai Police have rushed to the scene and further details are awaited. Authorities are currently investigating to ascertain the cause of the incident.

According to sources, Malaika's mother Joyce said in her statement to the police that Anil Arora used to sit on the balcony every morning and read the newspaper. She told the police that they were divorced but had been living together for several years. She told the police that on Wednesday morning, when she saw her ex-husband's slippers in the living room, she went to the balcony to look for him. When she could not find him there, she leaned over and looked down. The house watchman called for help. Joyce also told the police that Anil Arora was not suffering from any disease. He only had knee pain.

The area around the house was cordoned off with a heavy police presence to ensure privacy and order during this sensitive time. An ambulance was also parked outside the building.

Malaika's celebrity friends visited the family after the news broke. Videos of her former partner Arjun Kapoor and others made the rounds on social media. Her ex-husband's family also rushed to be by her side. Her former in-laws Salim Khan and Salma Khan, along with son Sohail Khan and daughter Alvira Agnihotri were present at Malaika's parent's house.

The actress had earlier revealed that she was only 11 years old when her parents, Joyce Polycarp and Anil Arora, separated. After the separation, Malaika and her younger sister Amrita Arora, who was only 6 years old at the time, were primarily raised by their mother.
