Last year, “The Traitors” launched on RTL+ with great success. The format is now entering its second season and the Cologne broadcaster has announced the first names from this year's cast. Among them are two familiar faces from the RTL show universe.

Last year, RTL launched a new format called “The Traitors,” which immediately won over many viewers. The participants included actor Claude Oliver-Rudolph, rapper Sabrina Setlur, presenter Ulrike von der Groeben, “Tatort” actress Christine Urspruch, “Princess Charming” Irina Schlauch, and handball player Pascal Hens. In the end, pop stars Anna-Carina Woitschack and Vincent Gross emerged as the winners of the show.

Now “The Traitors” is entering its second season, and RTL has announced the first names from this year's cast. Two former “Bachelorettes” will be there when presenter Sonja Zietlow welcomes the 16 candidates starting Thursday, October 10: influencers Gerda Lewis and Jessica Haller. They will also be joined by actor and TikTok star Helge Mark.

Halloween special on free TV

As a “further surprise”, RTL announced that the first episode will not only be shown on RTL+, but will also be broadcast on free TV at 8:15 p.m. on the day of the launch. According to a statement from the Cologne broadcaster, the first two episodes of the show will be available simultaneously on RTL+. After that, a new episode of the eight-part season will be shown there every week.

In “The Traitors”, 16 celebrities meet in a castle. Among the guests are several traitors, each of whom is secretly selected and must gradually eliminate their fellow players in order to get hold of a treasure of up to 50,000 euros and claim it for themselves at the end. The others try to expose the traitors. The special thing about it: Unlike the celebrities, the audience finds out who the traitors are right at the start and can enjoy the speculations and tactics of the candidates.
