German authorities have agreed to extradite three men wanted in connection with a fatal attack on a man in The Hague.

Omroep West reported that the men, aged between 19 and 23, will be extradited to the Netherlands in the next few months. A request for the extradition of a fourth suspect is still being considered in court.

The four men are accused of attacking a 23-year-old Somali man on Plein Square near The Hague Central Station in the early hours of July 21. The victim succumbed to his injuries after being taken to hospital.

Police believe the incident was the culmination of an argument that began around midnight on Lange Poten.

The four suspects were arrested two weeks later in Remscheid near Wuppertal in the Ruhr area of North Rhine-Westphalia.

A spokesman for the Dutch public prosecutor's office said: “We are waiting for the transfer and hope that this will happen in the next few months.”

The victim lived in an asylum seekers' home in Heerhugowaard near Alkmaar, where he was buried in a ceremony attended by about 50 people.
