OPM Free All Girls Technical College announces new date for entrance examination – Igbere TV

Port Harcourt, Rivers State – OPM Free All Girls Technical College has announced a change in the date of its entrance examination, which will now hold on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 7am. The college, which is committed to empowering girls through education and vocational training, offers a unique blend of academic and technical courses.

According to the college’s mission statement, “empowering girls for the next generation” is the driving force behind this initiative.

The institution's founder, HRM King Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, stressed the importance of self-sufficiency in a post on his verified Facebook page, stating: “She will do something with her hands and not her body to survive on the university campus.”

The college's curriculum includes a range of technical courses such as auto mechanics, welding, fashion design, electrical and electronic equipment repair and more. Successful students receive free uniforms, safety shoes, textbooks and other benefits. The college is open to girls of all faiths and backgrounds.

While the college does not currently offer free accommodation for remote students, there are plans to offer this support in the future. “We are making arrangements for free accommodation and food for those coming from outside Port Harcourt,” the founder noted.

Interested students must appear for the entrance examination together with their parents or guardians and bring a photocopy of their primary school certificate and the results of Primary 6.

The college is funded entirely by tithes and donations from the OPM Church, a testament to the community's commitment to empowering girls.

This is a college and technical university for girls only.

The reason for this college is to empower girls at a very young age so that they are financially secure even before entering university and do not have to rely on men to ensure their survival in university.

To survive on the college campus, she will do something with her hands rather than her body.

The normal course of study is carried out hand in hand with the technical courses of study.

And there will be 50% normal lessons and 50% practical-technical lessons.
