Tragic rockfall claims life in Vijayawada

The incident occurred in a house near the mountain, where four workers were busy cutting down a tree.

According to police, a large boulder broke off from the mountainside and rolled down, hitting the workers. Ekkada Ramu, 58, a resident of Gunadala, tragically lost his life in the incident.

The injured workers Basuri Kamayya and Kalla Raju were immediately taken to the new government general hospital for medical treatment.

The Machavaram police quickly reached the scene of the accident, provided assistance to the injured and took the body to the government hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

Gadde Ram Mohan Rao, MP for Vijayawada East, visited the spot to take stock of the situation and directed the officials to provide proper medical care to the injured.

It is important to note that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the region. In a previous incident near Sunnapu Battila Centre, five people lost their lives due to a similar rockfall.
