Seven workers killed in mini-truck accident in East Godavari district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh –

In a tragic accident involving the pickup truck they were traveling in, seven workers lost their lives and two others were injured.

Seven labourers lost their lives and two others were injured in a tragic accident when the pickup truck they were travelling in overturned in East Godavari district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Wednesday, police reported.

Accident details: A fatal accident in Chilakavaripakalu village

The fatal accident occurred at around 2 am near Chilakavaripakalu village on Aripatidibbalu-Chinnaigudem road. The labourers were on their way home when their pickup truck, loaded with heavy sacks of cashew nuts, skidded off the road and overturned.

The deceased have been identified as Deva Bhatula Bureya (40), Tamireddy Sathyanarayana (45), P Chinamusalayya (35), Katava Krishna (40), Katava Sathipandu (40), Tadi Krishna (45) and Bokka Prasad (40). All come from the village of Tadimalla.

Truck gets out of control: Worker trapped under cashew nut sacks

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deva Kumar said there were nine people on board the truck, which was carrying cashew nuts from Borrampalem village in T Narasapuram block of Eluru district to Tadimalla village.

“As the truck approached Chilakavaripakalu village, the driver apparently lost control of the steering, causing the vehicle to skid off the road and overturn. Seven labourers, trapped under the cashew nut sacks, died on the spot while two others were injured,” said DSP Kumar.

After the accident, the driver fled the scene and left the victims behind.

Injured workers receive medical care

The injured have been taken to Nidadavole Government Hospital for immediate treatment. Authorities are closely monitoring their condition and ensuring that they receive the best possible medical care.

“A case has been registered and investigations are on to ascertain the exact cause of the accident and trace the absconding driver,” added DSP Kumar.

Prime Minister expresses condolences and orders support for victims

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and directed the authorities to provide best possible treatment to the injured. He assured the bereaved families that the government would provide them with all possible support during this difficult time.

“The loss of life in this tragic accident is deeply saddening. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased and we are determined to provide all necessary assistance to the injured,” said the Prime Minister.
