Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut has made serious allegations in connection with an accident involving the car of Sanket Bawankule, son of Maharashtra BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule, in Nagpur. Raut claimed that the bill of the hotel where Sanket and his friends were dining included “beef cutlet”. He asked, “Is it acceptable for Hindutva preachers to eat beef during the holy month of Shravan and Ganpati festival?”

Raut also criticised the state of law and order in Nagpur, saying that it was more about privileges than road safety. He asked, “What would have happened if a common man had caused such an accident? The police would have paraded him along with his family and friends.”

Raut claims Sanket is being “shielded”

He then drew comparisons with Salman Khan and other influential people and said that Sanket Bawankule was also being shielded. Raut accused Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of failing in his duties as Home Minister and said, “Fadnavis' disregard for law and order will go down in dark history. The state has never had such an incompetent Home Minister.”

Raut stressed that the accident, which left 17-18 people hospitalised, took place in Nagpur under Fadnavis' supervision. He pointed out that the FIR did not even mention the name of the vehicle owner. “The driver was replaced after the accident and you are protecting him? What kind of law and order are you talking about?” Raut added that the bill for the car was paid by Hotel La Horee includes alcohol and beef chops, a contradiction for those who preach Hindutva. He called for transparency and condemned Fadnavis, warning: “Maharashtra will not forgive you.”

Raut's claims were based on his sources who informed him about the development. However, the menu of Hotel La Horee does not mention any dish containing beef. The menu lists various chicken and mutton dishes.

He also criticised the double standards and recalled how Fadnavis is trying to arrest Anil Deshmukh over a four-year-old case while ignoring the reckless behaviour of a BJP leader's son. “Sanket crushed ten cars under the influence of alcohol and tried to kill people and you are protecting him? How will you atone for this sin?” Raut asked, describing the incident as horrific.

On Monday, an Audi belonging to the son of Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party chief Sanket Bawankule reportedly hit several vehicles in the Ramdaspeth area of ​​Nagpur.

“By God's grace, no one was injured in the accident and there were no fatalities. But several vehicles were damaged. I said this yesterday too: whether the car is registered in my son's name or that of a criminal, appropriate action must be taken against them. The police have given me the most important information. Justice should be equal for all,” said Bawankule.
