Seven workers die in car accident in Godavari district

Godavari (Andhra Pradesh) [India] September 11 (ANI): 7 people died in a road accident near Devarapalli village when a truck carrying eight people from Jangareddygudem fell into a canal.

“Seven people who were on the truck died on the spot while one person was rescued and taken to the hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to Kovvur government hospital,” said DSP Kumar.

The accident occurred around midnight in the Devarapalli area when the passengers were on their way to Jangreddygudem.

The driver of the truck, which was carrying cashew nuts and eight labourers, tried to avoid a pothole and the vehicle went out of control and fell into a canal. Seven people who were on the roof of the truck died on the spot while one person was rescued and admitted to the hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the Kovvuru government hospital, according to DSP Kumar.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his grief over the accident. The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased and directed the authorities to provide the best possible medical care to those injured in the accident.

The Prime Minister assured that the government would stand by the families of the victims and provide necessary assistance. He also directed the officials to take necessary measures to prevent such accidents in the future. (ANI)
