Police officer shoots suspect in stabbing at dollar store in Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — A police officer shot and killed a suspect Tuesday night after a stabbing was reported at a Dollar General store, reports say.

Police told WFMJ Channel 21 that a male suspect was dead after the shooting inside the store. A woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but reports did not indicate whether she was stabbed or also injured in the shooting.

Officers arrived at the store around 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a “disturbance” involving a knife, WKBN Channel 27 reported. An officer shot the suspect, reports said.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is reportedly investigating the shooting.
