Davenport man charged with sexual abuse of two children

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – A Davenport man is facing multiple counts of sexual abuse after police say he abused two children over the course of several years.

James Hill, 52, was booked into the Scott County Jail on Friday on two separate charges.

In the first case, he is charged with three counts each of second-degree sexual abuse (a class B felony) and third-degree sexual abuse (a class C felony).

In the second case, he is charged with second-degree sexual abuse, two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of lascivious acts involving contact with a child, a Class D felony.

According to affidavits, Hill sexually abused two children under the age of 16 over a six-year period.

Hill is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on both cases on September 17.

The judge set bail in each case at $100,000 in cash.
