Woman charged in Whalley stabbing, Surrey RCMP say

A 36-year-old woman has been charged after she left another woman bleeding and unconscious in Surrey over the weekend.

The victim was discovered around 2:15 a.m. Sunday when police responded to a report of a possible pedestrian being struck near the intersection of 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard.

The police officers who caused the accident soon determined that the woman had not been hit by a car, but had suffered stab wounds. The 40-year-old was taken to hospital, where she remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, the Surrey RCMP said in a press release on Tuesday.

Police said on Sunday they had arrested a “possible suspect” in the attack, which they believe was targeted.

On Tuesday, police announced that Jennifer Kipp had been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon in connection with the case.

Kipp was remanded in custody until her next court date, police said.

According to online court records, her next appearance is scheduled for Friday in Surrey Provincial Court.
