New Delhi: A UP police A police officer was arrested on Sunday for allegedly sexually abusing a woman for years in Shahdara, Jyoti Nagar.
DCP, Northeast, Joy Tirkey said that the 38-year-old woman had claimed that she was sexually abused from August 2021 to July 22, 2024. The defendant, with Uttar Pradesh Working Grouplived in the plaintiff's mother's house as a rented apartment, police said.
The woman alleged that she had been blackmailed and threatened by the accused on several occasions over the years. A case was registered under sections 64 (punishment for rape), 88 (miscarriage), 123 (causing hurt by poison etc. with intent to commit offence), 316 (criminal breach of trust) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the BNS.
