Corrie fans 'angry' at Kit Green after Paul meets tragic end | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Coronation Street showed tragic scenes on Monday (September 9) for Paul Foreman, who died without his husband by his side. But fans of the ITV soap were “furious” with Kit Green.

Paul (played by Peter Ash) had been battling Motor Neurone Disease for nearly 18 months when his health suddenly deteriorated, with his final moments coming when a hungover Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) panicked after realising he had lost his phone the night before.

Billy was determined to find his phone because it contained precious memories of his beloved husband Paul.

Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) and Paul's mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) take over the care of his husband and Billy sets out to search for his traces.

He and an equally exhausted David (Jack P. Shepherd) returned to the hotel together, eventually found his damaged phone, and headed to a store to buy a replacement phone.

Meanwhile, Paul was struggling to breathe in the apartment. When Bernie realized that Paul could die that day, her younger son Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) rushed to search for Billy, as they had no way of reaching him.

Summer called an ambulance, but it took 15 minutes for it to arrive. During the agonizing wait, Paul managed to whisper Billy's name, longing to see his husband.

Bernie begged trainee paramedic Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and her colleague to keep Paul alive as long as possible during transport to the hospital.

Kit finally found Billy in a parking lot, but they couldn't leave because traffic was getting heavy due to a broken-down vehicle.

Billy then ran to the hospital on foot. He finally stopped to call Paul, but in a heartbreaking scene, Paul had already taken his last breath.

Since Billy missed Paul's final moments, Corrie fans wondered why police officer Kit didn't use his status as a police officer to get Billy to the hospital in time so he could say goodbye to him.

On X, someone asked: “Why didn't Kit get a cop to take Billy away and put the Blues n 2s on him? #Corrie.”

A second echoed: “When I read #Corrie I thought Kit had called some friends at the police and taken Billy to hospital on a whim.”

A third chimed in: “If I was Kit I would have organised a patrol car for Billy to go to the hospital. #Corrie.”

“Couldn't Kit have called Craig to take Billy to hospital in the back of a police car? Let's face it, he's a dodgy cop and has done worse?! #Corrie,” another added.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV1 and ITVx.
