Filming locations of The Teacher on Channel 5, Season 2 coming to Channel 5 | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Season 2 of The Teacher is currently airing on Channel 5 and features a new character embroiled in a new scandal. The current series centres on art teacher Dani, played by Kara Tointon, who begins an affair with her friend and colleague Jimmy Spencer, played by Will Mellor, after a schoolchild goes missing.

When the missing child is found drowned in a lake, the art teacher comes under surveillance. She invents stories about her relationship with her colleague and uncovers the secret behind the student's fate.

The first episode on Monday (September 9) revealed the fallout from Dani and Jimmy's affair and the tragic death during the school trip, and hinted at the possible involvement of Dani's husband Tim, played by Emmett J Scanlan, in the sinister twist. Following the huge success of the first season, which starred Sheridan Smith, the latest season is expected to be a hit for Channel 5 and its streaming platform My5.

The audience was treated to scenic views of the adventure park and its surroundings and was curious about the filming location. This is where the second season of The Teacher was shot.

The adventure camp scenes were filmed in Wicklow, Ireland, in March and April. Interestingly, it's the same location where Netflix's Vikings was filmed, and lead actor Will Mellor was excited to film in such a stunning location.

Taking to social media, star Will Mellor praised the stunning backdrops we found during filming: “We had some amazing locations. When we filmed at Lough Dan in County Wicklow, there was beautiful scenery. That's where they filmed Vikings… It was a stunning location.”

He said the cast spent “four or five days filming all the camping scenes” in the wooded area, and mentioned the challenges posed by the unpredictable weather: “We had a pretty difficult time with the weather,” he noted. “The weather could change at any time and we had a lot to do.”

Kara Tointon revealed her hectic travel schedule between Ireland, where the show was filmed, and her new residence in Norway. She explained her commitment to family life: “Now I have children, so my priority is to be at home as much as possible. I live in Norway now – we've packed up camp and are there.”

She explained her routine and the balance between work and family: “I travel back and forth and in some ways I just willingly accept the ups and downs because it gives me the opportunity to be home with my children.”

Tointon also expressed her satisfaction with her current situation: “At the moment we are getting used to the Norwegian lifestyle and loving it, and, and so I'm lucky. As promiscuous as it is, I'm lucky that I have these big moments where I came back on a Saturday. [to Norway] and return to Dublin on a Sunday. The moment was very intense, but it was worth coming back just for those 24 hours.”

Choosing Ireland as a location for The Teacher was an easier decision for the crew, especially after the first season of The Teacher was filmed in Budapest. City shots and buildings doubled for Bradford, alongside footage from Bradford.
